man and dog and wolves in disguise

The development of the domestic dog has been a long and confusing story full of mysteries and questions. It have been traced evidence of the dogs ancestors as far as 6-8 billion years back in time.
But how and why did they come to live together with us humans?

Whatever the reason, dog and man have been unceperable troughout history ever after. Even though the dogs we see all styled up at dog shows, or pampered by spoild celebrties, might not look anything like the wild dog or wolf we think of as the main ancestors...

That is why it cought my attention when I read that
recent research* has shown that tiny, long haired and crosseyed dogs, like the Pekinese, Shih Tzu and the Lahsa Apso, are some of the breeds most closely related to the ancestral wolf (!)


Other close related breeds are Shar-Pei Chow, Saluki, Afghan, Basenji and more obvious dogs like Akita, Shiba Inu, Alaskan Malamute, Siberian Husky, and Samoyed...

Night walks /greetings from Stavanger

I've been back home in Stavanger for the easter. That means (alongside free meals,) catching up with my other dog, Frida. I really enjoy taking walks late at night. And accompanied by a big briard, it's hard not to feel completely safe ... and Sara can tag along too.

*I was going to post this yesterday but fell asleep while making this compilation with some of my favorite "time-to-go-to-sleep-the-sun-is-soon-rising- and-you-have-no-curtains" tracks.

Oh yeah, but today I'm going to Bø in Telemark with two young studs (Tor Erik /deprimert julatre and Henrik) to take pictures at this big dog show. (escaping the by:larm festival that takes place in Oslo these days) Hopefully we'll find some place to sleep there tonight, but all the hotels and cabins seemes a bit too expencive.. wish us luck!

Ok, big ghetto hoops ( Salt n Pepa-style) have been on and about for quite some time now, and it's one of the reasons why I've recently been trying to psyche myself up to get my ears pierced (it usually ends up with an anxiety attack just thinking about needles..) and well, surprise, surprise, I of course would like a little twst on these ghetto hoops.. yes, I would like them to be shaped as dogs.. (I know I'm heading straight for eccentric dog lady here..I just cant help it.. I blame private school)




14k9.com got a big varity in design options and many different dog breeds (14 k 9 get it? lol brilliant name!) but I wish they were bigger, I'd like that massive look of the ghetto hoops, and they're expencive.

but treasure hunting on ebay is always a good option here's some wolves I came across in my search.

That maritime look also work. Like for example these pirate earrings from le fashionista.

( Cyber I think you should get one of these to hang in one of your earlobes! lol)

Oh and I totally fell in love with these cute seahorses from seaware.com
ah but they're a bit pricey too I'm fraid.

I also love the crab jewlery they've got. (and Henrik, they do birds as well)
Maybe it's worth checking out, if you for some reason would be into stuff like that.

hahaha. I was going through FFF´s blogspot links and I found these two sites.

One of them is sort of a tribute site to Julie/chiku (Fitts for Fights lead singer), called "Chikus life"
Its THE most creepy thing I´ve seen for ages. WTF?!

xmas workshop #1

Hello Hello, the shops already have started decorating for xmas and so I think it's about time we did too, here at 2depressed2getdressed

I'm planning on posting about DIY xmasgifts from now 'till xmas, just to set the right jolly holliday mood. hope your up for some good old', arts and crafts!

first suggestion is da da da...!!!!

knitted sweaters (or anything else knitted for that matter..)

yes I love knits... Im not any good at it myself though... but if you are, I think you should find some inspiration among these fine sweaters. oh and please do make me one! its cold in Oslo.

or you can always just customise an old jumper.. with emboidery, paljettes, gemstones, patchwork..whatever..

I once embroidered the word "Gonorea" on this pastel sweater, (I think it was about the same time I desided to take a break from all the drawing and painting stuff and go play numetal in a tiny town east in norway..), but my mom forced me to get rid of it 'couse it emberrased her...
